I bought a few new Cricut cartridges that I haven’t had a chance to use out yet so I thought I’d try out Four Legged Friends and make an Easter card. There are some really cute animal cuts on this cart.
I also tried out my print Gocco for the first time! It was pretty easy to burn a screen. I drew a couple of lambs using the Riso carbon pen and got it on my first try. I did try Speedball block printing ink first and it didn’t come out very well. I may try it again in the future, but I’ll stick with the Gocco inks until they run out.
I picked up a Xyron 5″ Creative Station the other day as I wanted to try and make my own stickers. I chose the Creative Station as it has a cartridge that laminates on one side and applies adhesive on the other. Some of the other models only apply adhesive. I tried it out tonight, and I’m pretty pleased with the results.
The laminate is matte so it’s not too shiny. The adhesive applies thinly and evenly. They look like regular stickers! (I did get a little piece of something trapped in my doggy sticker, but that was my fault…)
I also picked up a “X” which applies adhesive only to items 1.5″ wide or smaller. The cartridges are cheaper and it should be good for applying ribbon and cut letters & shapes to cards. Overall, I’m pretty happy with both of them.
